What is Prediabetes?

What is Prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a state where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough for a diagnosis .there are 2 types of diabetes. Prediabetes is also known as “impaired fasting glucose” or “impaired glucose tolerance,” depending on the blood test that used to make the diagnosis.

Diagnosis of prediabetes means that a condition called insulin resistance is present. Insulin is a hormone that produces by the pancreas which allows sugar in the blood to enter the cells. When you become an insulin resistance than insulin can no longer perform this job, and the pancreas produces more and more insulin to compensate. Initially, this compensation works, blood sugar levels remain normal and that condition called prediabetes.

In fact, Centers for Disease control & prevention clear that more than one of every three adults in the United States or 84 million Americans have prediabetes.

The majority of the people says that more than 90% don’t know they have it. Insulin resistance usually progresses to type 2 diabetes because the pancreas isn’t longer able to compensate for the insulin resistance effectively.

Factor & Symptoms of Prediabetes:-

The factors for prediabetes are largely the same as those for type 2 diabetes:

A few possible signs of prediabetes is acanthosis nigricans, which is a darkening of the skin in places such as the neck, armpits, elbows, knees, and knuckles. If you see some change in the skin then check out by a doctor.

Prediabetes Causes:-

The exact causes of insulin resistance are still, but an expert says excess weight, especially around the middle, and a lack of physical inactivity. Fat contributes to chronic inflammation, and that has been linked with problems like high blood pressure and heart diseases. Physical activity helps to muscles burn stored glucose or sugar and maintain the balance of blood sugar level in the body.

Other factors of insulin resistance include ethnicity, steroid use, aging sleep problems like sleep apnea and smoking.

5 Things You Don’t Know About Prediabetes

1.> Prediabetes is not pre-problem

Prediabetes isn’t Harless, and it didn’t come out of the blue. Prediabetes is a sign that Something metabolically has been awry for some time. Previously blood sugar levels rose to the threshold of prediabetes, insulin resistance or loss of insulin production or both were going on- likely for years.

The unseasonable stage of the problem is a secret because blood glucose levels remain normal. That Because the beta-cells of the pancreas pump out extra insulin to compensate for the body’s resistance. That’s when blood sugar level first increase.

Other Problems associated with insulin resistance include blood vessel dysfunction, chronic inflammation, abnormal cholesterol, fatty liver, high blood pressure, heart disease stroke and even some types of cancer, so you can see that prediabetes is not pre-problem.

2.> Prediabetes rarely has any symptoms

70M Americans have prediabetes and don’t know it. There are rarely any signs. Mostly, Healthcare Providers Screen for diabetes and prediabetes around age 45.

it’s Perceptive to ask if you should have the simple blood test that identifies prediabetes and diabetes. Your Provider may screen you earlier if you are overweight, have fatty liver or cardiovascular risk factors such as high blood pressure or abnormal cholesterol levels.

3.> Carbohydrates aren’t off-limits.

This is such as common misconception. yet, so many disease-fighting foods contain carbohydrates. Alternatively, of focusing on high-carb or low-carb, distinguish your foods between wholesome and not-so-wholesome. let’s eat ample black beans and kidney beans, but let’s put limits on jelly beans.

Be Aware Of that there is a huge difference between a toaster pastry and whole wheat toast with peanut butter. A few carb-Containing foods that I recommend for prediabetes are oats, Yogurt, Barley, berries, beans, nuts, and lentils.

4.> Prediabetes is more reversible today than tomorrow.

Both Prediabetes and type 2 diabetes are progressive disorders. The driving factor is the loss of insulin-Producing beta-cells.

Now someone has insulin resistance, the more beta-cells are likely to be lost. So today is your best Chance to reverse course on prediabetes. Day to Day that window of opportunity closes ever so slightly.

5.> Prediabetes is super common

Next time you go to the supermarket, Randomly count out 7 adults. The possibility is pretty good that at least three of them have prediabetes.

Furthermore worrisome- they probably don’t know they have it. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention more than 1 out of 4 Americans adults have prediabetes.and 90% haven’t been diagnosed.
