JEE Mains Joint Entrance Examination

JEE Mains is the national level undergraduate engineering entrance examination. The entrance exam is the gateways for the admission of various B.Tech /B.E programme offered by 31 NITs, 23 IITs & 23 CFITs from 2019. JEE Main will be conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA), mode of exam is computer-based and it is held on twice in a year. JEE Main is the qualifying test for JEE advanced through which the student can get the admission in 23 IITs. JEE Main 2019 will be held for 2 paper where paper I for B.tech admission and Paper II for B.Arch admissions.

The new change in JEE Main 2019 allows for the candidate to appear twice for the entrance exam in a given year. The Better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking as per the regulation laid by the authorities.

The exam date of JEE main announced at between 06-01-2019 to 20-01-2019  from  between 06-04-2019 to 20-04-2019

JEE Main 2019 Eligibility Criteria

First of all, the filling the application form and check the JEE Main 2019 eligibility Criteria prescribed by the authorities.

NTA has removed the age limit. However, those candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017,2018 or should be appearing for the same in 2019 in irrespective of their birth dates.

However, admission criteria in the concerned institutions/university will be followed as prescribed by the concerned University/Institutions and per the guideline & criteria prescribed by AICTE.

List of Qualifying Examination for JEE Main 2019

  • The +2 levels examination in 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examinations is conducted by a recognized Board.
  • Any Public School/Board/University Exam in India or in a foreign country recognized by Indian University
  • S.C Vocational Exam.
  • A passing grade in the Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.

Important :-Those Candidate who has appeared in the class 10+2 Board exam/equivalent in 2018 and wishes to improve upon their performance for the purpose of taking JEE(mains) or JEE(advance) will be required to appear in all the subject as per the scheme of studies again from their respective board in 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE (Advance)

Only top 1,50,000 candidate including all categories as per reservation policy based on performance in JEE(main) that will qualify to appear in JEE(Advance) Examination.

JEE Exam Pattern

Examination held on two parts. first part qualify and then-candidate appear in the second part. A candidate can attempt to clear the JEE(Main) Exam 3 times in consecutive Years and A candidates can attempt JEE(Advanced) maximum two times in a consecutive Years.

JEE (Main) Exam

It consists of two paper:-

  • Paper 1 of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separates mode i.e offline & online. It consists of three subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. In the Paper you asked objective Type Question with equal weight-age. It contains total marks 360 in the time taken allotted 3 hours.
  • Paper 2 of JEE(Main) will be conducted only pen & paper based examination mode. Candidates will opt for either Pen or Paper Based or Computer based examination mode for paper -1 only. It consists three Subject Mathematics-part 1, Aptitude Test –part II & Drawing Test –part III. In the paper, you asked objectively type Question & check Drawing Aptitude. It contains total marks 390 within the time taken allotted 3 Hours.

JEE(Advance) Pattern

JEE(Advance) will consist of two question papers and each of three hours duration. The questions papers will be in English & Hindi. Each of the question papers will be consist of three separate sections on physics, chemistry & Mathematics.

The question will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning & analytical ability of candidates. In some sections, an incorrect answer will be awarded negative marks.

Syllabus of JEE (Mains) & JEE (Advance)

JEE Main & Advance 2019 syllabus is a list of topics and Sub-topics that are specially specified by the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE).

JEE (Mains) Syllabus :- Chemistry

Physical Chemistry :- Some basic concept in Chemistry, Equilibrium, States of matter, Redox Reactions & Electrochemistry, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Chemical kinetics, Chemical Thermodynamics, Surface Chemistry, Solutions, Atomic structure.

Inorganic Chemistry :- Classification of elements & periodicity in properties, p-Block Element, General principles & processes of Isolation of Metals, d- and f- Block elements, Hydrogen, Co-ordination compounds, s-Block Elements, Environmental Chemistry.

Organic Chemistry :- Purification & characterization of the organic compound, the organic compound containing Nitrogen, Some Basic principles of Organic Chemistry, Polymers, Hydrocarbons, Biomolecules, the organic compound containing Halogens, Chemistry in Everyday life, Organic compounds containing Oxygen, Principals related to practical chemistry.

JEE (Mains) Syllabus :- Physics

Section A :- Physics & Measurement, Kinematics, Law of Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation, Properties of Solids & liquids, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic Waves, Kinetic theory of Gases, Oscillation & Waves, Magnetic effects of Current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic induction & Alternating Currents, Thermodynamics, Current Electricity, Optics, Atoms & Nuclei, Electronic Devices, Communication System.

Section B :- Experimental Skills

JEE (Advance) Syllabus :- Chemistry

Inorganic Chemistry :- Isolation/Preparation & Properties of the following Non-metals, Ores & Minerals, Preparation & properties of the following compounds. Extractive Metallurgy, Transition Elements(3D Series), Principles of Qualitative Analysis.

Organic Chemistry :- Basic concept, Preparation, Properties & Reaction of Alkenes & Alkalies, Benzene, Phenol, Alcohol, Ethers, Aldehydes & Ketones, Carboxylic acids, Haloarenes, Carbohydrate, Amino acids & Peptides, Properties & uses of some important Polymers, Practical Organic Chemistry.

JEE (Advance) Syllabus :- Physics

General Concepts, Electromagnetic Induction, Mechanics, Optics, Thermal physics, Wave nature of light, Electricity & Magnetism, Modern Physics

JEE (Advance) Syllabus :- Mathematics

Algebra, Differential Calculus, Trigonometry, Integral Calculus, Analytical geometry(2 dimensional), Vectors, Analytical geometry(3 Dimensional)

How to apply JEE(Main & Advance) Application Form?

Interested candidates go to official website www.jeemain.nic.in. Those candidates who read the information carefully before starting the online application process. It is notified that the online application procedure will be commenced from 1st September 2018. The important information related to JEE main applications form 2019 are as given below:

  • Adhar is a compulsory document to apply for JEE Main.
  • Please keep your Adhara number,email_id, mobile no., class 10th &12th certificate, scanned photograph and scanned signature of yours and your parent/guardian signature before you apply.
  • The application fee for – Paper 1
