Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

GATE is an online national level examination conducted by IITs for admission to postgraduate programs like ME, & direct Ph.D., offered by higher education institutes across India. These institutes include the IITs, IISc, NITs, GFTIs, and other universities in India.GATE 2019 score will also be used by the public & private sector.

The examination authorities had released the online GATE mock test 2019 on oct. 30,2018 In spite this, the facility to rectify Gender / Category / PwD Status / Dyslexia and other similar learning disabilities in the application form opened from Oct. 31 to Nov. 7 The application form of GATE 2019 was available till Oct. 3.

GATE Eligibility Criteria

It’s important to check out the GATE 2019 eligibility criteria before you fill up the GATE applications form and criteria you fulfill all of them.

Age Limit:- There are no age limits to attempt GATE Exams.

Nationality:- Aspirants must be an Indian. Besides that, candidates from Ethiopia, Bangladesh, UAE, Sri Lanka & Singapore also eligible for GATE.

Pass percentage:- There is no minimum pass percentage criteria in the qualifying exams to apply for GATE.

Educational Qualification:- All the Aspirants must have passed their respective qualifying exams or can be in the final year of the course except for few courses. The lists of eligible qualifying exam are as follow:

Qualifying Degree Criteria
B.E. / B.Tech / Pharma Aspirants must hold a bachelors degree in engineering or technology (4 yrs after 10+2 or 3 yrs after in Engineering or technology ) or be in the final yrs of the course.

The Aspirants year of qualification should not be later than 2019.

B.Sc. (Research) / B.S Aspirants must hold Bachelors degree in science (post-Diploma /4 yrs after 10+2) or be in the final yrs of the course

The aspirants years of qualification should not be later than 2019.

B.Arch Aspirants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (5 yrs course) or be in the final year of the courses.

The aspirants year of qualification should not be later than 2019.

M.Sc. / M.A. / MCA or equivalent Aspirants must hold a Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application or equivalent or be in the final year of the courses.

The aspirants year of qualification should not be later than 2019.

M.E. / M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2) Candidates must have completed Integrated masters degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology ( 5 yrs program) or be in the 4th/5th year of the course.

The candidates year of qualification should not be later than 2020.

Int M.E. / M.Tech (Post-B.Sc.) Aspirants must have completed Post – B.Sc. integrated Masters degree programs in Engineering/Technology (4 years program) or be in the 2nd /3rd /4th year of the courses.

The Aspirants years of qualification should not be later than 2021.

Pharm. D. (after 10+2) Aspirants must have completed Six years program, consisting of Internship or residency training during the sixth years; or should Currently be in the 4th /5th /6th year.

The Aspirants year of qualification should not be later than 2021.

GATE Notification 2019 : GATE Application Form

GATE applications process was scheduled between 1st September to 3rd October 2019.candidates can apply for the exams only through online mode. Let’s go through the steps involved in the applications process.

Step 1: Go to the official sites

Step 2: Click on the link provided to apply for GATE 2019.

Step 3: Register yourself and enter the name, valid email ID, mobile no. & password. After successful registration then the candidates will provide an Enrollment ID. Log in using your enrollment ID & password.

Step 4: Enter your Personal Details

Step 5: Provide your postal addresses along with PIN code.

Step 6: Enter your Academic Details.

Step 7: Enter the name & address of your colleges along with PIN code.

Step 8: Enter the GATE subjects (paper) you want to appear for and choice of exam cities.

Step 9: Upload scanned images of your Photograph, Signatures, Eligibility certificate and other documents in the necessary format and size.

Step 10: Make payment of GATE applications fee.

Step 11: Submit your applications.

Step 12: To Take a print out of your GATE online application form for future references.

GATE Application Fee 2019

The GATE applications form fee for various categories are as given below:

  • Female Candidates:- For Rs. 750 on or before 21st September 2018 & Rs. 1250 during the extended period.
  • SC / ST / PWD:- For Rs.750 on or before 21st September 2018 & Rs.1250 during the extended period.
  • Other Candidates:- For Rs 1500 on or before 21st September 2018. & Rs. 2000 during the extended period.

GATE application fee can be paid only in the ONLINE mode, through Credit / Debit Cards and Net Banking.

GATE Exam Pattern 2019

Aspirants must have a clear idea about the GATE exam pattern.GATE exam for all papers consists of 65 questions. The time duration for the exam is 3 hrs and the maximum marks are 100.

There are two types of questions ask in GATE Exam.

  1. Multiple Choice Question (MCQ)
  2. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Out of the 65 questions, 10 questions carry 15 marks will be on General Aptitude(GA). The remaining 55 questions will be on Engineering mathematics and the subject you have applied.

There is negative marking in GATE 2019.1/3rd of the marks allotted to questions will be deducted for wrong answers. However, there is no negative mark for NAT question.

GATE Admit Card

GATE Admit cards will be issued for the candidate whose application form has been accepted.T he GATE Admit Card/Hall tickets will contain all the necessary information’s about the exams like the name of the candidates, GATE paper applied for, exam center/venue, exam time, photograph and signature, other instructions etc.

Aspirants will have to log in to their accounts on the GOAPS by entering their Enrollment ID and password to download their GATE, Admit Card.

GATE Result

The GATE results will be declared on the GOAPS website after the papers are evaluated and the score calculate. To view the GATE results and download the GATE scorecards, candidates will have to enter their Enrollment ID and password and login to their accounts.
